Trip to St. George!

Last weekend I drove with Sharon and her two kids down to St. George to visit Holly, Tim and their kids. It was a nice break to get out of the snow. 50 degree weather isn't really that warm to the locals, but it felt soooooo good to me!

We went shopping at the outlets and I bought this cute dress. I'm including a picture that's been slightly altered. I don't have a real picture with me in it, so I just dinked with the online catalog picture in Photoshop. You get the idea. Sharon got the same dress in purple.

We went to this development called Entrada. It's kinda on the way to Snow Canyon and Tuacan. It was fascinating to me in the eyes of a designer. At USU, they made us do a lot with big scale developments and their meshing with the surrounding landscape. This development does a very good job in blending with the red rock. They have this huge water feature that winds through the entire development. So in everybody's backyard, you have this cute stream trickling over red rock. I didn't think it very practical until I found out that all that water is recycled water from the houses. All in all, I was very impressed. So if you have an extra 1.3 million to drop on an adobe rambler, this is your house.

What would be a visit to St. George without a drive by the temple. Here's a good shot at dusk.

I really love the desert. There's something about it that makes me relaxed. I could really spend my life in a place where dirt and cactus replace ski lifts and snow tires. But then I come back to the snow-covered mountains and the neighbor's goats... and I like this too.
