MLK Day

How much fun can we squeeze into one day???  The cold-winter weather finally returned mid-January (after several days of warm rain) and we knew the sledding hill at the cabin would be epic.  We also had tickets to the ice castles for that evening!  After several years of living in Midway, we've learned that you see the Ice Castles EARLY, before they're gone!  They've had crummy luck the last couple of years with bad weather and always close early.

The kids had their fill of sledding, that's for sure.  The sledding hill was very soft because of the recent dump.  There was so much snow, all the sage brush was covered!  It was so pretty!  Uncle Allen and I were able to head up Dry Canyon on our new xc skis.  He just kept going and going.  The best part of skiing is the down-hill part, but it was still a little sticky.  So much fun though!

We headed back home for Ice Castles with Beverly and Lloyd.  They weren't quite as spectacular as year's past, but still fun.  They built in a couple ice slides that Anna and Dallin loved.  The crowds weren't that bad either.... but oh, it got cold quick once the sun went down.  I love snow!!!
