The Rest of Winter

It is definitely the warmest, most pleasant winter ever. Great time to be cooped up with kids! Dallin does his 15 minutes of online preschool every morning and heads off to regular preschool after lunch. Drew entertains himself very well these days and has managed to wean himself off that retched binky. Baby Tommy continues to amaze us all by staying perfectly content... smiling at his own remarkable hands!

I got out skiing a few times more after my birthday, but never on cross-country skis. I really miss it! The opportunity never arose, and there wasn’t any decent snow close enough. It’s all good though! We took Anna and Dallin a couple times to Deer Valley and they had a blast! We’re so lucky we can park at the gondola, rather than fighting Park City traffic. It really cuts down on frustration. Anna is getting so much better, and Dallin picked it up pretty fast considering it’s his first year. I won’t be anxious to get Drew on skis until Anna and Dallin are VERY self-sufficient, maybe a few more years. There is some benefit to waiting until they’re 5 or 6. They definitely learn a lot faster and can pick themselves up if they fall over. I have a feeling we’ll be doing a lot of this in the future. Bevan will probably be working Saturdays for many more years and I’ll need something to do with the kids. And if we happen to run into him and he takes a few runs with us… even better! He’s also better towing the kids across the flat areas.

Easter(s) and Conference

Easter celebration stretched over 3 weekends this year! Nora and her family were leaving out of town, so we just had to have a party before she left. We went and saw Paige in her school play, Peter Pan. It was over-the-top for an elementary school production! I was very impressed with all the talent! Afterwards we had an egg hunt at Nora’s house… in the dark! The kids loved it! I hope it becomes a new tradition. A dozen kids, flashlights, and candy candy candy! What could go wrong?! We then cut up a delicious carrot cake made by Nora, in celebration of Vanessa’s birthday. And to top it all off… a surprise visit from Cousin Cathy!!! She was in town for a conference and chose the perfect time to stop by. We were mostly all there too! She’s still the same wonderful Cathy.

On Saturday afternoon, the 31st, we had an easter egg hunt over at John and Heather’s house! It was also General Conference. They had lots of fun places to hide eggs. If the kids didn’t fill up on candy, we had some yummy soups and rolls. When the men left for the Priesthood session, the kids still played outside while some of us watched part of the session on tv. We were all surprised with the announcement to combine quorums within the church. I guess it doesn’t directly affect me, except that maybe Bevan has one less Sunday meeting and can be home to help get kids ready! There you go!
