The best of February

Here's how my February went:
Ski, babysit, ski, babysit, ski, babysit...
I loved it!!!
I'm part of a babysitting co-op that's been really amazing!  It gives you the freedom and flexibility that is so desperately needed when you're home all winter with 3 kids.  February was very snowy and cold.  I welcomed having other kids in our home.  They were great entertainment for Dallin and Anna.  In exchange, I got out A LOT and was able to go to Deer Valley or up the canyons on my xc skis.  It's been a real game changer.  Because of all this, no "February blahs" this year.  I stayed active, I stayed happy, and I still love my kids.  Win, win, win!  Here are some of my favorite pics.

Ode to Subaru

Well, we finally did it.  We sold Bevan's beloved Subaru.  It was just time for it to go.  I shall miss it.  It was the car he drove when we first started dating 12 years ago.  It was a nice car back then.  I kinda liked him for his car!  It's been everywhere, from Arizona to Montana... and about 3000 trips to Park City (I did the math).  Anyway, it's been such a part of our life for so long, it felt like my duty to give it it's own blog post.
So, farewell white subee!  Have fun running out the clock with that highschooler kid.  Maybe he'll put another 265K miles on you.  We  also hope you pass your emissions test (you've never had one before)!  Here's some of my favorite pics of you...

Pocatello

Oh, how we love this tradition!  Bevan had to work the freestyle world cup at Deer Valley and didn't get home until midnight on Saturday.  We left Sunday, late morning, and made it there in plenty of time for the game to start.  Vanessa and Trent were so hospitable, as they always are.  We had wonderful food and the kids played so well (even Drew), I was actually able to watch the game for once!  And what a crazy game it was!  I wasn't rooting for either team exactly, but I was surely impressed by the Patriots and coming back from such a deficit!

We usually go to Lava Hot Springs on Monday morning... but we figured we better not with 3 non-swimmers and only 2 of us.  Instead, Bevan stayed with the littles and Vanessa and I went cross country skiing.  Yes, I've done a LOT of this lately, bur it's so fun when you're actually with somebody else.  I cherish it while I can!  We went up some road, up some canyon, but we ended at a campground at the base of Scout Mountain.  So pretty!  I was excited for the ski down, of course.  It never takes as long as you think!  We went for Bevan and the kids and headed to lunch at Cafe Rio.  Dallin must've been hungry because he ate his quesadilla as well as the other 2 my kids wouldn't eat.  It's the cheese.  He LOVES cheese!  We were sad to leave Idaho.  The weather was perfect and the white landscape went on forever.  I got so sidetracked I forgot to call Anna's school and tell them she wouldn't be in class today.  Oh well, it's kindergarten!
