I was a little surprised when they called me as Young Women "camp specialist" a whole 3 WEEKS before camp! But... when you're called at the last minute... you only have to stress for a minute. There ya go! Anna wasn't too happy that I was imposing on HER girls camp, but softened towards the end. I was given simple duties, such as organizing camp kitchen and buying snacks and drinks. It also gave me the chance to experience the famous Heber Valley Camp! It was my first time and I was super impressed how great of a camp they run. It was very clean, organized, and not a noxious weed to be seen! The stake camp leaders had us perfectly scheduled for all the fun activities like zip-lining and hatchet- throwing. They needed leaders for night-time specifically, so I got to camp overnight, and then commute to work for the last 2 days. It was great and made me feel like I wasn't missing out on too much. I'm already making resolutions that next year, I'll be more organized, take more days off work, and brush up on my axe throwing skills!
