April is over

I cannot believe April is already over! What has happened over the last 4 weeks? Not a whole lot worth noting. I’ve been back at work full time since the ski resorts closed. The off and on good weather keeps our landscaping jobs in a roller coaster schedule. The #1 question is still: “When will my project start?” Who knows? This year sometime!

Bevan has been holding down the fort at home. We’ve both realized that just because the kids are getting older, the job isn’t necessarily easier! They still require plenty of attention and food to stay happy. We took a trip down to the valley to shop for a new couch. Anna had a roller skating birthday party at Classic (where’s covid?) so we made the most of a trip by visiting furniture row. Ikea was a mistake (we were lucky to make it out with all 3 boys!) and Ashley’s selection was measly, with everything back-ordered at least 3 months.

We also cut down some aspen trees for John, fixed some bikes, taught Dallin how to catch a baseball, and begged Anna to practice the piano for heaven’s sake! The highlight was definitely taking Anna to Moana Jr. at the town hall. For a “kids show” it was very well done. I was blown away with the fancy hand-sewn costumes and intricate details of the set. It’s funny what you notice as a mom. The music was good too.

My Off-Season is Complete!

And just like that, my off-season is over!  Bevan takes over for the next 7-8 weeks, but unlike last year, he has a summer job offer and a start date.  Woohoo!  There's even talk about not requiring masks at the resort this summer.  Even better.  He got a wicked mask tan line these last few weeks!

As for me, we have more work lined up for the summer than I can fathom!  My boss has been waiting patiently for me to get back to the office, mostly because I'm the one who knows the most about all these jobs coming up.  Yep, it's gonna be another busy summer!

I think I'm going to miss my winter routine: Tommy to preschool in the morning, Drew to preschool in the afternoon, work in a little fun here and there.  I didn't get to ski was much as I wanted, didn't get to watch the shows I was planning on.  I cleaned a lot, organized the house a little, picked up a lot of nerf bullets, stepped on a lot of legos (ouch!) and just played with the kids.  My final quest was to fix the 2 broken tricycles that have been sitting for a year.  Success!  My off-season is complete.

Easter and Conference

I love it when Easter and General Conference fall on the same weekend!  It just makes for a double header of fun!  The kids were part of 3 Easter egg hunts and got a TON of candy.  I was actually able to listen to ALL the sessions of conference for once and even got the boys to sit through a session (with a bin of legos, of course).  The talks were all wonderful and beautifully simple.  No crazy announcements this time, but they did say the temples were starting to reopen finally.  Yay!  'Bout time!

We spent most of Saturday at Nora's watching conference, eating food and stuffing/ dying/ eating Easter eggs.  We also had Mom and Dad, Allen, and Paul and Stefanie!  It was so good to see them and their cute kids!  They all hunted candy and eggs at Nora's park and rode scooters and go-carts up and down her street.  My kids had a blast and slept all the way home.
