The rest of February

I'm glad we had the Pocatello trip to liven things up, because the rest of February was a little dull.  I skiied a little bit (the snow shut off by then), babysat a little bit, and did projects around the house.  The end.

The kids had more fun than me.  Anna has loved being in young womens and even got to go the temple for the first time this month!

Dallin did his "3rd grade wax museum" presentation on George Stevenson, the inventor of the modern steam locomotive.  Never heard of him?  Neither had I.  We both learned a lot.

Drew got to celebrate the "100th day of school" with his class.  I don't know why kindergarten makes such a big deal.  Don't they know they still have at least 12 more years of it?!  He covered his shirt with 100 stickers.  School is the best!

Tommy needed to bring a collection of something for his preschool "museum day".  He's been obsessed with batteries/ timers/ clocks/ charging things so he brought an assortment of batteries.  Some were slightly buldging and questionable.  He was so proud of it!  I was praying none of them leaked.

Here's to the end of February, which flew by faster than I thought.  Spring is right around the corner!

Soaking, Trains, Ice Cream, and Football!

This is our funnest tradition of the winter!  We had to tweek our weekend visit to Pocatello because Valentine's Day was Monday and the kids would rather die than miss out on bags of candy.  It all worked out because, new this year, Bevan has Saturday's off.  We just went up in that morning!  We stopped by for our traditional soak in "hot lava" and Vanessa met us there!  I've never been there on a Saturday... and I was a little put off by the crowds.  At least the noise my kids made didn't stand out that much.  We had to hurry back for Luke's basketball game, but once that was over, we had time to explore the train yard of Pocatello.  The boys were in heaven.  Dallin got a whistle from the conductor.  His bucket list is complete!

The next day, we went to church with Vanessa's family, and spent the rest of the day doing what we do best:  eating, go-cart, geotrax, eating, rc car, Chevy the dog, eating, superbowl, video games, and more eating.  The game was good and I don't even remember who won.  It's all about the family party!  I did not enjoy the late-night drive home, but thanks to podcasts and a zipfizz, we made it in one piece.  Next time, we'll go home on Monday for sure!
