I’m so glad this ended up happening! It was postponed from July, which was for the best. September is a wonderful time to visit with family. The weather was perfect, the playground was fun, the cousins were plentiful! There were maybe 100 people there, which is only 1/3 of the total Allen family. It still felt like a lot of people! I bet Grandma and Grandpa were watching the fun from up above. Thanks to Aunt Bonnie and Barbara for organizing it all. I loved to see all their lists and family trivia. We’re waiting to see who will get the prestige of being the 300th member of the family. We’re at 290-something. Hmmm, they could be a cousin’s new spouse or maybe a new baby? On a side note, I won a prize for having the most common birthday, March 8. There are 5 of us with the same birthday! I had no idea!

Swiss Days 2022
It’s always crowded, it’s always crazy, it’s always hot, and that means it’s Swiss Days! It’s been nice having a break from the 10k race, although we still went and helped. I went out to the “water stop” with Anna and Paige and handed cups to the runners. I loved it so much I’m thinking of volunteering for it next year. I keep saying I’m going to run it one of these years! We watched the parade from the corner by our house (under some SHADE for a change), volunteered in the knockwurst booth, the baking booth, and the snow cone booth. We ate plenty of scones, swiss tacos, and hot dogs. We loved having Nora and her kids stay with us again. Paul came with his family, as well as many others coming and going, wanting in on the excitement… and our open parking spaces.
