Ski Days

Here's a few words to sum up this ski season...

GOOD COMPANY!

Let’s just say it’s been a good year for “cruzin’ the groomers”. Bevan and I did catch one good day of soft powder right after a storm, but it didn’t thrill him as much as it did me. He skis every day and has a right to be a little picky. For me, ever since quitting the ski resort life, I take every chance I get! I especially love it when I get to ski with family! Several of my siblings have joined us and it’s always been a good time. We all share the same skis and boots, hit the best runs at the perfect times, load up on the free garnishes with our chili-cheese fries, weasel our way onto the gondola so we don’t have to go all the way around, and always ski a little too fast and slightly out of control. None of this fun would be possible without generous employee benefits and, of course, Grandma Christy and her countless hours of babysitting. Here are a few of my favorite shots of the season:

Time for an Anna overload!

Guess what? 15 months is a milestone! I had no idea until I got a reminder call from Anna's pediatrician to schedule her 15-month appointment. Sweet! Dr. Larsen is the best and we always enjoy visits with him. Anna behaved herself but couldn't resist trying to get his Ipad. I explained that if it looks expensive and glows, she wants it. Period. The bad news is that she does have a slight ear infection, but since she's such a good baby, I could never tell there was something wrong with her. They're just going to watch it for now and hopefully it'll just go away. I've been so blessed to have such a sweet HEALTHY girl. I spent the other afternoon reading the blog of this mother in my ward. The dad is our home teacher and the oldest boy was in my primary class, so we're like family, I guess. Anyway, their daughter had a heart transplant at 3 months old!!! I was totally engrossed in their story (she's an intense blogger) and forgot everything else I was supposed to do that day. That little baby girl is now 3 1/2 years old and you could never tell. I don't know how I would handle it. It would take more strength that I have.

Back to Anna, she's growing taller and her hair's getting thicker everyday! She's REALLY close to walking. She still takes 2 long naps every day. Her other favorite activities include playing on our bed, going on walks in the stroller, skiing (yes, I take her skiing), brushing her hair, taking baths, "trying on" the laundry, and practicing with her walker. I tried to get a good video, but this is all I could get.

She has 16 teeth!!! Yes, she has them all except her 2nd molars. Her hair has even gotten long enough that her cute cousins put her hair in tiny pony tails. She looked like a bug with antennas. She babbles all day long, but you can never understand her. I'm sure she's formulating some plan to get even for those awful shots I made her get. Oh, but we love our little Anna!

Here's to quality family time! She even has her own little season pass!
