The Newest Member of our Living Room

I've always been a sucker of landscape photography, especially of places that I've been. Well, there's a guy in our ward who does landscape photography... REALLY GOOD landscape photography! He's so good, he makes a living off of it. "Going to work" consists of hiking into the mountains/ desert and taking pictures. He's seriously living the dream. He has a gallery in Heber as well as in the basement of his house. We did a "business trade" of sorts and ended up with a fabulous scene from the Tetons. So beautiful!!! I just had to put a plug in for Willie Holdman. Check him out! Oh yeah, his wife also makes and sells jewelry. What a family!

Here are a few of my other favorites. It was hard to pick just one.

This is Silver Glance Lake with Mt. Timp in the background (if you zoom in you can see his green tent in the bottom left corner).

This is Temple Mtn. in the San Rafael desert. So pretty!

It makes me want to eat something...

This will be the winter of getting things done! My projects have been piling up for months but something is finally happening. The bathrooms are being painted as we speak, the dining room curtains have been ordered, AND we finally re-stained our dining room table! Well, not "we" but I harassed our friend, Christian, enough times that he took care of it. His dad has a wood-working shop down in Charleston with all the proper tools. The table was fine before (who doesn't love free stuff from family) but it had this orange-ish factory stain that never looked quite right. Besides, it wouldn't match the curtains. I helped out by sanding the chairs and the bench and letting Christian sand the table. He highly recommended the "Golden Oak" stain, but I was hesitant because "golden" could mean "orange"! Anyway, it turned out fabulous!!! He even sealed it with a TRIPLE coat of lacquer. What a friend. Now we're in desperate need of dinner guests to eat on our new table. Anyone want to come to Midway? We'll even let you blue-tape the bathroom baseboards.

This is one of my favorite KSL finds. We've had it for a while, but Anna still loves it. She's even learned how to throw noodles off of it.

What else would you do in January?!

Needless to say, it's been a dry winter. Last week it was also warm, very warm! On our walks, Anna would just need a jacket and not her full bunting ensemble. Our friends decided to have a bon fire/ hot dog roast in their backyard, and we were all very excited to join in. I ate 3 hot dogs and 3 smores and pretended like it was the middle of July. Pray for snow!
