I love how I can summarize the entire month of January in one blog post.
In a nutshell:
We skied,
Bevan worked,
and I watched kids (so I could ski some more).
We did take Anna and Dallin out a few times. They're getting so much better! Dallin has mastered the "bombing snowplow" while Anna is more cautious with lots of turns and keeping it slow. It's getting harder to ski with BOTH of them at the same time, even though they're both beginners. We did take Drew out a few times, and he did alright! He needs a little bribery like candy and cookies, but what kid doesn't?!
Anna had her "3rd Grade Wax Museum" presentation at the end of the month. Basically each 3rd grader picks a famous person from history, researches them, dresses up like them, and stands very still while parents walk around the classroom learning about them. Anna did Cleopatra! Her research taught us that while she did do many great things and was the last monarch of Ancient Egypt, she wasn't the most morally-upright female role-model. Oh well! It made for a fun costume and fancy makeup. She looked just like Elizabeth Taylor!
Bevan and I have been loving our callings in the nursery! When January hit, the 3-year-old's all moved on to regular primary, and we were left with the babies again. It is so great! Not the most talkative bunch, but very peaceful. Sure, it's a little isolating, but it never lasts long. Bevan says he could keep this calling for years! Be careful what you wish for!
