I didn't get to go, but at least he brought back a souvenir.

Zoo it up!

Our new friends invited us to the zoo with them last Saturday. Gee, let us think about it... yard work... or animals and fun with our babies? We opted for the zoo. And so did about 2 million other people. It was one of the first nice Saturdays in a long time but not too hot. I have fond memories of the zoo. I remember the train circling the entire zoo, when now it circles a tiny part of it. I also remember the stench of the reptile house and how the animals are always just sleeping. If it was just us, it might be a little boring, but since we have the baby, it's all about the stimulation and education. "Look Anna, monkeys!" She stares, unimpressed. The brain of a 6-month old can only handle so much.

Speaking of 6 months...

She's actually 6 months!!!

Her sitting up and rolling over have improved. Her hair is growing. Her appetite is monstrous. Her favorite is mashed banana with rice cereal, although she has tried sweet potatoes, peas, applesauce, and carrots (didn't know they stained so bad!) all with success! She sleeps through the night as well as taking several long daytime naps (don't know how we scored that deal). Here are her 6-month stats

weight: 15 lbs. 10 oz. (53rd percentile)

height: 27 1/2 " (98th percentile)

She's still long and lean with big dark eyes! Such a cute girl!
