Oh, Dallin! We love this kid soooooo much! No other boy could be this much fun! We celebrated his birthday over Memorial Day weekend. We were at the cabin eating and playing. Dallin loved having no boundaries, and room to wander, though he mostly stayed where the action was! It was also Dad's birthday, so I made a cake for them both. I started thinking it would be a fabulous ice cream cake, then it evolved into just a regular, yet fancy layered cake. It then turned into 2 single layer cakes (one for each). Finally, I just barely had enough time to make one single layer cake. Bad frosting, sprinklers, no writing. Oh, well! It all got eaten. May is a crazy month for me!
So, what do we love most about Dallin?
He has endless energy.
He loves to be outside ALL THE TIME!
He will wake up in the morning and immediately gets his shoes to go outside.
He climbs in and out of his crib freely, although he stays put during the night.
that brings us to: He's such a great sleeper!
He still sports the binky, although he chucks it across the room when he gets mad. It's so cute!
He is the star of nursery class. He will leave the middle of sacrament meeting to walk down the hall to nursery. Does NOT like it when I bring him back!
He's already had 2 hair cuts (yep, I like a clean-cut man!)
His hair is so blond! But he has a more olive skin tone. Completely foreign to me!
His favorite toys are trucks, diggers, balls, trains, monkey leash, and his giant red stuffed dragon.
His favorite food is cheese. Cheddar, mozzarella, pepper jack, he loves it all!
I LOVE the gap between his 2 front teeth. The bigger his smile, the wider the gap!
He and Anna love each other so much. He won't go to bed unless Anna is in bed too.
He says "Hi!" to everyone, even strangers in the store. He loves to give hugs... even to strangers in the store.
I can't wait to see what the next 2 years bring, as he grows from toddler into little boy. We love our little Dallin! I finally got him to hold still for a photo. We'll just go ahead and call it the "official" 2-year-old photo. They don't come much sharper than this. The other are all too blurry!

Off-Season Daddy Day Care
Ah, the "off-season"! Simple life for Bevan. CRAZY life for me! At least I don't have to worry about the kids. From the middle of April to the end of May, Bevan stays home with the kids while mommy goes off to work full time. It's my busiest time of year and coincidentally works out right during Bevan's furlough. The kids all stayed healthy, thankfully. There were many visits to the park. There were many naps. There were many bowls of cereal! Life couldn't be more fun and less structured than when daddy stays home. I hijacked Bevan's phone for this post. He took the best pictures that really illustrates those wonderful 6 weeks! (notice how Anna's hair gets worse and worse...)
